My Faith. My Vote. My Future.

2012 Election Campaign

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Faith,

Our God-given responsibility as Muslims is to serve humanity by enjoining the right, forbidding the wrong and doing good in the world. Each of us shares this responsibility to act for the betterment of our society.

As we consider the upcoming national election, we now have the opportunity to act on these principles.

As American Muslims committed to enhancing the political and civic participation of our community, we offer the following observations:

  • Every eligible person should register to vote. A person who is not registered to vote is politically non-existent and has no voice.
  • Vote based on your conscience, as shaped by the principles of Islam, in order to support what is best for all people.
  • The powers of prejudice and hate are increasingly powerful during this election season. Expose and speak out against the un-American nature of such attitudes.
  • Do not support or donate to any candidate who is not willing to engage with American Muslims, or serve all Americans equally.

As we make our way to the ballot box in November, we have the opportunity to impact the future of our country and our community. We hope this Community Toolkit will provide you with the information and tools you need to be an educated, empowered voter who is ready and able to mobilize your fellow American Muslims during this critical election.MPAC’s team of staff, board and volunteers are ready and able to work with you to support and amplify your efforts.

Sincerely,

Salam Al-Marayati

MPAC President
