We cannot be fighting each other. That is exactly what ISIS wants. They see this issue as a war between Islam and the West. The more you fuel that rhetoric, the more you play into their hands. ISIS represents cruelty. Islam represents mercy. ISIS represents destructive behavior. Islam says to go and build a civilization. American Muslims are part of the solution. That sizes ISIS down. That puts them in their place. They are nothing more than a mafia and criminals that use the veneer of religion to support their cruel, barbaric practices.

MPAC held a press conference alongside notable Muslim community leaders at the National Press Club to announce a new campaign to actively prevent violent extremism. Called the Safe Spaces Initiative, the campaign is the first major national grassroots effort to equip American Muslim community and campus leaders with practical tools for developing healthy communities as well as intervention strategies for troubled individuals.
